Compu-Fire Performance Products
Compu-fire's distributorless ignition system for the Bosch 009 or EMPI 009 distributors has triple the energy of conventional electronic ignition systems! This complete system includes all electronics, custom 60,000 volt ultra high energy coil pack, silicone spark plug wires, and all wiring, connectors and mounting hardware.
Your stock Bosch 009 or EMPI 009 distributor is still required for timing purposes. The billet aluminum distributor cap included in this kit mounts on top of your Bosch 009 or EMPI 009 distributor. You install a small ignition module inside the distributor that triggers the coil pack sending 60,000 volts to each cylinder. This system is VERY easy to install. Everything is plug and play. You only have to mount the coil pack on to your fan shroud.
If you have a tachometer on your vehicle, then you need to purchase the Compu-fire tachometer adapter harness. The adapter harness plugs in to the coil pack housing and gives you the negative lead that you wire to your tachometer.
