Note For Beetles: Offsets Wheel Out 5/8 Inch Per Side Over Stock WidthThis is an OEM brake for VW Things. It can also be used on 1969 to 1979 four lug beetles to convert to five lug WITHOUT having to change to the narrow 1966 to 1967 brake shoes.
For many years, people have used the 1967 and earlier 5 lug brake drum to convert their 1969 and later beetle to 5 lug. In doing so they've had to sacrifice their brake shoe width on late model which is 1.5 inches wide and go with the earlier 1967 shoe which is only 1.125 inches wide.
This brake drum allows you to convert your 1969 to 1979 beetle to 5 lug and still retain the 1.5 inch wide shoes but the trade off is it will offset your wheels out 5/8 inch per side. On stock beetles there may be a fender clearance issue. On Baja beetles this is great for added track width.
It is tapped for 12mm wheel studs.
